Everyone has their way of making envelopes, but here is the NO template way. It was so easy that I decided it was the perfect tutorial for all my crafty friends in cyber-land.
You will need:
- ATC size item or any item to be put in your envelope
- 6x6 piece of paper or paper large enough to fold around your little treasure
- double-sided tape/ATG tape-gun
- pencil
- scissors
- imagination
Lay paper wrong side up and place your little treasure in the center or a bit off-center if you like
Fold the paper around the little treasure to create creases vertically and horizontally (i leave more space at the top for the sealing flap
with a pencil, on each side, place a tick mark 1/4" in (towards the center) from each score/fold line (these are to create angled sides for easy folding and general aesthetics)Draw a line from the intersections of your score/fold lines to the closest tick mark on all sides
With scissors, cut out the corners
To assemble envelope:
Fold sides in to center and tape together using double-sided tape/tape gun
Fold up shorter end flap to make bottom of envelope and glue or tape closed
Seal envelope with glue/tape, decorative tape, twine, sticker, etc.
Pieces cut from coordinating cardstock to use as inserts in envelopes. Perfect for gift cards, love notes, or just a little thank you. I can't get enough of them.
I hope you will find many uses for this tutorial and let me know how your own envelope making project goes. Happy DIY-ing!GIVE-AWAY
